SKU# 2457344

A$ 44.99

Medium term cellaring will reveal a complex, stylish wine but this can be aged for up to 10 years. Those who drink it now will be rewarded with a powerful and complex wine bursting with ripe black fruits and subtle mint. the 2012 vintage won a Silver Medal at the International Wine Challenge 2015. the IWC is accepted as the world's finest and most meticulously judged wine competition. A cool growing season with above average rainfall provided the Coonawarra region with conditions that lead to late flowering but ideal conditions for berry set. A warm December preceded a cool January. February followed with a prolonged hot spell quickly bringing the vines into their ripening phase. Autumn continued with cool, dry weather allowing the grapes to complete their maturation slowly and evenly. Winemakers regularly visited the vineyards monitoring the ripening and development of the grapes. Stand out Cabernet Sauvignon blocks were selected for inclusion into St Hugo.
