Max Schubert, creator of Grange, made the first Bin 389 in 1960. Matured in barrels that held the previous vintage of that legendary wine, the 389 is often referred to as a 'Baby Grange'. This wine has a complex nose of dark fruits, Christmas cake and liquorice and a palate of ripe blackcurrants, blackberries complemented by touches of quince and coffee. It is elegant and concentrated. Try with rare roasted rack of lamb, ideally after decanting to aerate.
